Are you teaching your kids how to communicate?

This post follows on from yesterday's Never make your phone your top priority post, I want to encourage you to think about whether you're teaching your kids how to communicate in the real world.

We all know that our kids, even more, are growing up in an age of technology and online communication.

As a parent, I'm very conscious about making sure I show my son how to communicate in real life.

having a written conversation on your smartphone or in chat is not the same as being able to communicate in real life.

If you show your kids it's fine to sit at the family dinner table focusing on your phone, that's what they will learn.

If you show them that your phone calls, emails, text messages come first, then they will not only feel second best, they will also learn this is how to treat others, including how to treat you.

Something to think about.
